YERCAUD- THE POOR MAN’s OOTTY

Yercaud is a small hill station 35KM north east of Salem in Tamil Nadu. Apart from the climate of the region there is not much of tourist attraction in this place. We four families on the way to Pondicherry decided to take a break in Yercaud. We had arranged the accommodation there online in advance although plenty of accommodation facilities are available.  We had a glimpse of some tourist spots which usually all hill stations do have for namesake. The main attractions include Killiyur falls, Pagoda Point, Lady’s seat, Shevaroy temple, Lake and the Botanical Garden.

Le Pondy Beach Resort, Pondicherry

Next day a 220 KM drive from Salem took us to Pondichery where we had a nice time spending our time in the Le Pondy Beach Resort (http://www.lepondy.com/), where they have beautiful private beach and other amenities for all kind of activities.

After a short time sightseeing in Pondicherry the next day we proceeded back to Trivandrum after having a break in Tanjavur for one day.

  3. It was lovely reading your blog post. When it comes to Pondicherry, the place is pretty laid back and has some fine restaurants serving passably good French cuisine. To experience high quality stay, check out these 5 star hotels in Pondicherry.
